📋 How to Submit the CeA e-Arrival Card

Step 1: Go to arrival.gov.kh or download the Cambodia e-Arrival (CeA) app. Both are free and official.

Step 2: Fill in your personal details, passport information, flight details, and Cambodia accommodation address.

Step 3: Complete the health and customs declaration sections honestly. These are legally enforceable.

Step 4: Submit the form — processing is near-instant. A QR code is generated and emailed to you.

Step 5: Save the QR code. Present it when asked at immigration and again at the customs counter on arrival.

Note: Land border arrivals do NOT use the CeA. Paper forms are provided at overland entry points.

e-Visa Valid Entry Ports: Where You Can and Cannot Use It

The Cambodia e-Visa is not valid at every border crossing. This is a detail that catches Indian travellers entering overland completely off-guard. Verify your port of entry before booking travel.

⚠️ If Entering from Thailand Overland

If your Cambodia trip includes an overland entry from Thailand — via Poipet, Cham Yeam, or any Thai land border crossing — your e-Visa will NOT be accepted at these points. You must obtain a Visa on Arrival at the border. Bring clean, undamaged USD 30 cash (no cards accepted at land VoA counters). Always confirm the latest list of accepted ports at evisa.gov.kh before travel.

After You Arrive: Stay Limits, Extensions and Overstay Fines

Your Cambodia e-Visa is valid for 90 days from the date of issue — you can enter anytime within this window. Once you enter, the clock starts on your permitted stay:

•        30 days permitted stay: From the date of your actual entry into Cambodia, you may stay for up to 30 days.

•        One extension permitted: You can extend your tourist visa once for an additional 30 days, giving a maximum stay of 60 days total. Apply for an extension through evisa.gov.kh or at an immigration office in Phnom Penh before your current visa expires. Extension fee: approximately USD 45 (may vary).

•        Overstay fine: USD 10 per day for every day you overstay your permitted period. This fine is collected at the airport when you depart Cambodia — you cannot leave the country without paying it. Repeat overstays can result in detention, deportation, or a ban on re-entry.

•        No visa run: Cambodia's immigration department has increasingly scrutinised travellers who attempt to reset their stay by exiting and re-entering. Frequent short stays followed by border crossings and re-entry can lead to questioning or refusal.

Official Portal vs Third-Party Sites: The Scam Every Indian Traveller Must Avoid

Searching 'Cambodia e-Visa' on Google returns dozens of websites that look official but are not. These third-party sites charge USD 50–100 for a process that costs USD 30 on the Cambodian government's own portal. In some cases, they collect payment and personal data without submitting any application at all.

 Identify the legitimate sites in two seconds:

•        e-Visa: evisa.gov.kh — the .gov.kh domain confirms it is a Cambodian government portal

•        e-Arrival Card: arrival.gov.kh — the official CeA submission portal

•        Immigration information: immigration.gov.kh

Red flags on third-party sites:

•        Any fee above USD 30 for a tourist visa

•        URLs that include words like 'official', 'gov', or 'cambodia' but do not end in .gov.kh

•        Requests for your credit card details on a non-.gov.kh page

•        Claims of 'priority processing' or 'guaranteed approval' — the government portal charges USD 30, processes in 3 days, and that is the only option

Pre-Departure Checklist for Indian Travellers Flying to Cambodia

•        Indian passport: Valid for at least 6 months beyond your Cambodia arrival date

•        Cambodia e-Visa: Applied at evisa.gov.kh, approved, PDF printed (two copies)

•        Cambodia e-Arrival Card (CeA): Submitted at arrival.gov.kh within 7 days before arrival. QR code saved on phone and screenshot taken

•        Return/onward ticket: Cambodian immigration may ask for proof of onward travel

•        Accommodation address: First night's hotel confirmed and address matches what you entered in both the e-Visa and CeA applications

•        USD cash: Cambodia uses a dual-currency system (USD and Cambodian Riel). Bring clean, undamaged USD notes — torn or heavily marked notes are often refused. ATMs are widely available in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
