It is often a big question in the mind of the travelers who plan to visit a new place. Well Georgia in that sense is a cheap travel destination as compared to other parts of the world. Georgia which falls in the western part of the Asia it is not a very expensive vacation place.
Most part of Georgia is very safe for travelers. Corruption, which used to be a big hassle for tourists, is far less visible since now. It is absolutely safe and reasonable to trust the Georgian police, as the infamous and corrupt traffic police have been disbanded. Police cars keep patrolling streets in Georgian cities on a regular basis, and can help in case of any problem on the road.
It should be noted to travellers that you are supposed to show your ID when you exchange money in a bank in Georgia. Some ATMs there may not accept foreign cards so be sure to have some cash in hand and also keep smaller notes and coins for change because many vendors or taxi drivers may deny you the change for big notes.
Taxis in Georgia are the most convenient mode of travel, and they are reasonably cheap. Drivers exaggerate prices for foreigners so you should fix your destination and price before getting in the cab. All official taxis are required to install meters, but the drivers may not use them unless prompted.
The standard fee for a 90-day, single-entry 'ordinary' visa, which covers tourism, is 60 GEL or its equivalent. Double-entry 90-day visas (only available at consulates) are 90 GEL.
