Skytree was completed on Leap Day 29 February 2012 with the tower opening to the public on 22 May 2012.

TeamLab Planets TOKYO DMM.com is an art facility that utilizes digital technology and was established by teamLab and DMM.com. It is located in 6-chrome Toyosu Koto-ku Tokyo. DMM. Planets Art by teamLab held in Odaiba in 2016 has been scaled up and will open in Shin-Toyosu from July 7 2018 until the end of 2020. It is composed of a total of eight artworks by teamLab centered on four huge workspaces. By immersing the entire body with other people in these massive Body Immersive artworks the boundary between the body and the artwork dissolves the boundaries between the self others and the world become something continuous and we explore a new relationship without boundaries between ourselves and the world.

Meiji Shrine is a Shinto shrine in Shibuya Tokyo that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife Empress Shoken. The shrine does not contain the emperors grave which is located at Fushimi-momoyama south of Kyoto. After the emperors death in 1912 the Japanese Diet passed a resolution to commemorate his role in the Meiji Restoration. An iris garden in an area of Tokyo where Emperor Meiji and Empress Shken had been known to visit was chosen as the buildings location. Meiji Shrine is located in a forest that covers an area of 70 hectares. This area is covered by an evergreen forest that consists of 120000 trees of 365 different species which were donated by people from all parts of Japan when the shrine was established.

Todai-ji is a Buddhist temple complex that was once one of the powerful Seven Great Temples located in the city of Nara Japan. Although it was originally founded in the year 738 CE Todai-ji was not opened until the year 752 CE. The temple has undergone several reconstructions since then with the most significant reconstruction taking place in 1709. Its Great Buddha Hall houses the worlds largest bronze statue of the Buddha Vairocana known in Japanese as Daibutsu. The temple also serves as the Japanese headquarters of the Kegon school of Buddhism. The temple is a listed UNESCO World Heritage Site as one of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara together with seven other sites including temples shrines and places in the city of Nara.
